Veterinary Disclaimer

Scaled School is not a veterinary practice. The people behind this site are keepers and researchers, not veterinarians.

Health content on this site is researched from veterinary literature and written for one purpose: to help owners recognise problems early and know when an animal needs a vet. It covers recognition and prevention only. It does not diagnose any condition, and it contains no treatment plans and no medication doses.

Nothing on this site is a substitute for veterinary advice for a specific animal. If your reptile is sick, injured, not eating, losing weight, or showing any sign described in a health section of a guide, see a qualified exotics veterinarian promptly. Do not delay veterinary care to try a remedy described — or implied — by a general guide.

No health page on this site carries a veterinary reviewer credit unless a real review of that page has taken place. Until then, health pages state plainly that review is pending. A reviewer credit will only ever be added to a page that the named reviewer has actually reviewed.

Parameter values in the care guides — temperatures, humidity, enclosure sizes, and feeding schedules — are general ranges cross-checked across published sources. An individual animal’s needs may differ. Check the ranges against current veterinary and breeder guidance for the species, and raise any doubt with a veterinarian before changing an animal’s care.
